4 out of 5 Great bow

I bought the bow on black friday and have shot more than 2000 arrows on it within the past month. It shoots quiet and has a great balance point. Right now, my only issue with it is the bow string. It is not frayed, has been well maintained and only shot indoors. However, the stretch and peep rotation has become aggravating. Aside from the string, I absolutely LOVE this bow. The string is the only reason this product will get 4 stars and not 5 from me.

Mathews has excelled again with the VXR. The 28″ model is the most balanced bow I’ve shot. Not only is it the smoothest, quietest bow I’ve ever seen but it has the power behind it. It is the perfect hunting bow for the serious bowhunter.

Mathews knocked it out of the park with this bow again. The bow is silent and vibration free. This bow is stable and easy to shoot.

After over 25 years of shooting another bow brand, I made the switch this year to the new VXR 28. I’ve been blow by its forgiveness and how easy it is to shoot! Hands down the best bow I’ve ever shot

I’ve been faithful to another bow manufacturer for many many years. Shot the VXR and was completely blown away. It’s the most perfect bow I’ve ever shot. It’s almost like Mathews built it specifically for me. Everything from the grip, balance, draw, and back wall is exactly what I’ve been looking for. My confidence in my equipment has skyrocketed. I’m now the proud owner of the VXR 28 and can’t wait to start filling my tags.

I am a Canadian and it’s very hard to buy the VXR 28 So I went to Lynden Washington to Dave’s sport shop and ordered a left-handed model and now I am going to be waiting 8 weeks for my bow. I tested right handed model VXR28 So it was a bit unfair to judge the Matthews because I was shooting with my wrong hand. However to my surprise I was able to draw back the 70 pound bow and hold it at the back wall for as long as I wanted. I find that impressive because I have never pulled back on a right handed bow before. It definitely was awkward but the fact that I could do it was impressive to me. After doing this several times I felt the draw cycle was a little stiff but was manageable and when I get my left-handed VRX I don’t think that would be a problem at all. Very impressed with the back wall .(solid) I like the fact that it’s American made and the Matthews quality is considered one of the best bows out there.

5 out of 5 New Mathews convert

I’ve owned several bows from the top (and some obscure) brands but never a Mathews. Quite frankly, I always thought it was just “the popular kid on the block”. Well, shot the new VXR28 and now I am a proud owner. You hear it over and over but this is the quietest, most dead in the hand, stable bow I’ve ever shot. Was a little skeptical of the 6″ brace height ( my last bow was 7 5/8″) but this thing rocks. Way to go Mathews, great bow!

I’ve shot a lot of bows and owned way to many but now I changed nothing but mathews bows for me. A 26 in draw with a 410 gran arrow shooting 287 fps is amazing

I recently obtained a 2018 Triax and loved the bow. I started researching the VXR and finally went to my local Archery Pro shop to test one out. Needless to say, I am now the proud owner of the 2020 VXR 28″ bow. All the minor issues I experienced with the Triax were completely gone on the new VXR. 70lb, 30″draw, is easy to hold, valley, backwall, draw cycle, quiet, dead in hand are all top notch. My experience thus far has been excellent. No buyers remorse here.
