Take a closer look at the Spider-Claw Quiver Mount System in this video clip featuring Pat Reeves and Nicole Jones.

This accessory mounting system provides for the quick positive attachment and detachment of bow accessories and similar devices without the use of tools.  The new attachment system has achieved wide acceptance and several companies have approached Mathews about licensing the concept for other accessory applications.

Rest Technology

DownForce Arrow Rest Logo

DownForce Power Retract Arrow Rest

The revolutionary arrow rest that guides arrows longer, and retracts faster.

  • Stabilizes Arrow Longer During Release
  • Spring-Loaded Cradle Retracts Ultra-Fast
  • Harmonic Damper Absorbs Vibration and Noise
  • Attachment to Bowstring Provides Maximum Fletching Clearance and Ultra-Fast Rest Response

Unlike other conventional drop away rests, the triggering cable on the DownForce attaches to the lower half of the bowstring, not the cable.  This means the cradle stays with the arrow longer to provide the ultimate amount of guidance during release.  The power retract mechanism drops away ultra-fast, up to 5 times faster than previous models, providing maximum fletching clearance, and a straighter, more accurate arrow flight. The new Mathews DownForce arrow rest is the rest you're going to want on your bow. This innovation has the cord attachment connecting to the bow string, which creates a "pulldown" effect. This means the arrow rest launcher arms stand up longer and pull down quicker resulting in better arrow stability and easier tuning.

String Grubs

String Grubs Video

Watch as Dave Watson interviews Matt McPherson about string grub technology.

New for 2009 is the Mathews String Grubs. String Grubs aid in reducing string vibration in order to gain more speed.  The String Grub is an important component in this fully integrated system that makes the Reezen the fastest most efficient single cam bow in the world and the Monster the fastest, most efficient twin cam in the world.

Grips

Inline Grip (2004)

Grips Video

Pat Reeves and Nicole Jones discuss the benefits of Mathews’ inline grips.

This simple yet effective concept laminates a layer of contrasting wood in a vertical line in the pressure area of the grip.   The vertical laminate indicates to the archer where to align his bow hand pressure and serves as the starting position for setting the arrow rest, a convenience to archers where consistent form and execution is a key to accuracy.

Rich black walnut grips are available in three styles - Inline, Classic and Competition. Either style can be personalized with engraving. Inline Grip: A wood inlay shows you the center of the grip to establish centerline. This grip is also ergonomically superior.

Zebra Strings

The best bows in the world deserve the best strings in the world.

Zebra Strings

Barracuda Bowstrings

Thanks to our new proprietary manufacturing process, we are pleased to announce the release of our newest addition to a long history of premium bowstrings: the Barracuda. We firmly believe the Barracuda to be the highest performing bowstring in the world, not only in the field but also on the target line.

Like our other premium bowstrings, Barracuda strings also utilize the patented Z-S Twist technology that has revolutionized the industry for over a decade. Furthermore, Barracuda strings are taken through an extensive and unique pre-stretching process, eliminating creep before the string is placed on a bow.

Our new Barracuda strings come standard on the 2007 Mathews Drenalin and Mathews Conquest Apex bows and can be purchased in most sizes to fit an extensive list of compound bow makes and models. Barracuda bowstrings are available through your local archery retailer.

Zebra Hybrid Bowstrings

For the past decade, Zebra technology has led the bowstring industry into new areas of Research and Development as well as Quality Control. As a result, we have encouraged a higher level of consumer consciousness in the area of archery accessories. In fact, consumers now are much more aware and educated about their accessories than they were 10 years ago.

It is for this reason that we are pleased to announce the introduction of our newest technology: Zebra Hybrid Bowstrings. Our proprietary Anti-Stretch technology, along with our patented Z-S Twist, makes Zebra Hybrid the most durable bowstring on the market.

  • Incredibly stable, anti-stretch technology
  • A precision blend of Vectran and HMPE
  • Z-S Twist minimizes peep rotation

Harmonic Damping System™ (Patent 2000)

Harmonic Dampers

When the bow launches an arrow, the greatest portion of the energy stored in the bow is transferred to the arrow but the residual energy must be absorbed by the bow system and archer.  Mathews’ harmonic dampers are designed into the bow system and tuned to absorb a significant portion of the residual energy while it is still in the bow, before it can reach the archer.  The result is a bow that is smoother and more pleasurable to shoot.

Harmonic Stabilizer

Harmonic Stabilizer
Harmonic Stabilizer vibration graph

The Harmonic Stabilizer is another exciting new innovation for 2009 form Mathews, Inc.  The Harmonic Stabilizer is purposely tuned to be out of phase with the longer Reezen bow, and can dampen more than 75% of residual vibration.  When placed in the bottom Harmonic Damper hole on the Reezen the Harmonic Stabilizer will give optimum performance.  Another Harmonic Stabilizer can be purchased and put in the top damper hole for added weight but little is gained in post residual vibration.  One Harmonic Stabilizer will be standard issue on all Reezen and Monster bows and can be purchased as an accessory to retrofit most Mathews’ bows  currently equipped with Harmonic Dampers.  Visit your local Mathews retailer to shoot the Mathews Reezen today and feel the Harmonic Stabilizer difference for yourself.

String Suppressors

String Suppressor

In 2002 Mathews introduced String Suppressors, arms mounted on bow limb tips that house a rubber like boot, which reach out and touch the string, effectively suppressing vibration.

Roller Guard

Roller Guard

Another 2002 Mathews Innovation is the Roller Guard, a pair of angled machined wheels, which “roll” the cable out of the way instead of sliding them down a cable guard, thereby reducing friction.

Dead End String Stop

Dead End String Stop
  • Drastically Reduces Residual Vibration
  • Virtually Eliminates Post-Release Noise
  • Fits most bows currently equipped with a rear stabilizer bushing
  • Installs in minutes
